purpose

withinmyworld.org is both a showcase of my interests and my personal webdesign sandbox. Out of necessity, it is my only home on the Web, and so it multi-tasks!

Here, I house sites of many sizes on under-represented subjects--superheroines, advice on college, unusual character perspectives, info about depression, my favorite MMO, and more! My interests are wide and varied, and so my online "world" is just as big.

the name

I came up with "withinmyworld.org" in late 2004, just before buying the domain name; I had just finished writing a song by the same name and loved how the title rolled off the tongue. The phrase "within my world" also encompasses the scope of the domain--my personal online world, structured page by page, link by link.

I chose a ".org" TLD because I wasn't planning to make any money off my site--I was merely a hobbyist. And so many years later, it is still a labor of love. ♥
